How do I apply for support?
Applicants for support should read the sections of this website giving guidance on what the Trust will (and, importantly, will not) support, before completing and submitting the Trust’s application form.
The form should be completed as fully as possible; failure to complete particular sections is likely to delay consideration by the Trustees. Although the Trustees normally meet formally only once a year, applications will usually be considered at any time. An applicant may be contacted by one of the Trustees to discuss the application in more detail.
The Trust will support (generally within the music constraints already detailed) Festivals, individual concerts and other projects with: grants; guarantees against loss; matched funding against support from commercial sponsors and other grant making bodies; a combination of these. For educational or training initiatives that require a longer term commitment, support will usually be in the form of grants.
The Trustees do not provide feedback on unsuccessful applications.
What financial conditions apply to a successful application?
The award and payment of financial support by the Trust are conditional upon the following:
- Acknowledgement of financial assistance on all printed and electronic material shall be shown in the following terms: ‘Supported by the Exeter & District Classical Music Trust’.
- Copies of the poster(s), advertisements, and programme for the event shall be forwarded to the Trustees.
- Within one month of the event, a report form (which will be issued with notice of any successful application) will need to be completed and returned to the Trustees.
- An award made on a guarantee-against-loss basis will only be paid on production of the accounts for the event.
For each event supported, the Trustees have an expectation that applicants will make every effort to secure additional funding, through grant aid from other sources, sponsorships, etc.
